Since I painted his world blue
Cocktail, ginger ale: 5 bucks a glass
I had a half a dozen and they knocked me on my ass
Until my mind whispered to my lips
“It’s time to go out sinking ships
So c’mon, light the fuse”
So I said, “I’m tired of going ‘round and ‘round with you
Dwelling ain’t what I came here to do
I thought I told you never stick that
Finger in my face again
Or I’ll break that finger off!”
Never had a friend I didn’t screw
I’ve drank their wine and had their lovers, too
Tonight don’t mean a thing; c’mon and take a swing

Finally he’d had enough of me

So I said a prayer to someone else’s god
Though I know the gods have
No control over me
I took one final look around

And when it jammed I knew I’d earned
